My Story
With over 10 years experience in the music industry, Coenie Naudé officially launched his solo career with an album in 2022. He is an expert independent musician on the rise in the Afrikaans Folk-Rock world. Hailing from Nelspruit, South Africa, Coenie has studied under numerous big-name musical influences in South Africa while attending college at the Academy of Sound Engineering, including Danie du Toit (Spoegwolf), Francois van Coke, Hunter Kennedy and Almero.
Although none of his family members were involved in music, Coenie had an ear and active passion for music after only a year or two of experiencing life. Ever since he was a toddler, all Coenie could dream about is becoming a professional musician.
Over the years, Coenie developed his skills and started giving vocal lessons, guitar lessons, piano lessons, and even drum lessons for a short period. He began writing and performing his own music in 2019.
Coenie has performed on big stages like Innibos, Bietjie-bietjie bos fees, Picnic Sundays and Jacaranda Warm Fest alongside numerous big artists like Spoegwolf, Francois van Coke, Die Heuwels Fantasties, Early B, Elandré, Jeremy Loops, Martin Bester and Sunset Sweatshop to name a few. His first album, Waarde launched in July 2022 and his calendar is filling up fast. He is officially releasing a collaboration with Danie Reënwolf in September, as well as a song written by Hunter Kennedy in October.
“I think music in itself is healing. It’s an explosive expression of humanity. It’s something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we’re from, everyone loves music.”
